Spinal Alignment
The impact force of thousands of pounds of pressure every day is sustained not only by the feet, but by the legs, knees, and back as well.

Walking on hard surfaces, such as tile and concrete floors, compounds the strain on the body.
When you feel discomfort, the natural gait cycle is interrupted, posture is impaired, and the entire body is affected.

Proper spinal function depends on proper alignment from the foot up. An unbalanced or misaligned foot causes spinal distortion.

When your foot improperly settles in the longitudinal arch it allows your shinbone to become misaligned.

This misalignment becomes more exaggerated as you progress further up the spinal column, causing discomfort in the knees, hips, legs, lower and upper back - even extending to the shoulders, neck and head.

During standing, walking or running, the lumbar spine and pelvis balance on the lower extremities.
OVER PRONATION:
Excessive inward roll of the foot after landing. The foot continues to roll when it should be pushing off. This twists the foot, shin and knee and can cause pain in all those areas.

SUPINATION:
Insufficient inward roll of the foot after landing. This places extra stress on the foot and can result in iliotibial band syndrome of the knee, Achilles tendinitis, plantar fasciitis.
